Today i called HR and they said manager has not provided any update on my application. Should i wait for the offer letter or look opportunity in another organisation? Deloitte Deloitte India

I rejected a candidate because he was under-qualified relative to other campus hires (wondering if he was someone’s kid), but what capped it was he listed fluency in German on his resumé.
Now I speak German reasonably well, so after I’d already decided he was probably a no, I asked him a question in German. Deer in headlights, followed by backpedaling on his level of proficiency.
Be prepared to defend every bullet on your resumé.

Lol might try this with Spanish
My experience is that at least in 1st rounds candidates only get rejected for large foundational gaps
Huh, interesting. Came in as an EH to an SC position out of the military a few years back. Might have just been my role that didn’t require it? Good info to know if I ever decide to shop around for a new job!
Resume round: writing a different firm’s name on the cover letter (even if optional), very weird resume format, typos throughout resume, improperly inflating things they did in college (we tend to do resume reviews as alumni so it’s easy to tell who’s inflating). If there are a TON of standout resumes, then I might look at whether they properly followed business letter format to separate folks even further, but with cover letters optional these days, I generally don’t adhere to this unless they’re really sloppy (eg, bitch the name of the recruiter)
Interview round: tough to say because at this stage, the standard deviation gets narrower (especially with each round). I’ll pass everyone who nails the fundamentals during round 1, but will only recommend we grant final offers to those who are exceptional on the margin

I’ve never rejected a candidate for a small thing. If they’ve gotten to me I’m looking to hire them.
