MBA graduate in Marketing. Changed companies very frequently but stayed at Oyo for almost 2years as Zonal manager until the lay off. After ~1year of trying during covid, got a job as Client Advisor in NoBroker. It has been 5months but the pressure is high. Now wants to work in IT. Any advice how one should proceed? Which certification will help and where to get it?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

My dilemma:

I'm at a LMM investment bank. Can get crazy sometimes, but otherwise chill. Typically done around 7-9 pm, had maybe three 1 am nights. Haven't worked a weekend in over a month. Fridays almost always done at 5 pm.

Have an offer at a reputable MM bank but probably pretty sweaty. Worth the move?

If you do two years as an analyst at one bank is it possible to lateral into an associate position at another, or would you be an analyst again? Not at a good enough platform to get into the type of Buyside roles I want. Unsure of next steps.

What does everyone wear for client meetings in a WFH setting

I’ve felt that I’ve done well my first month or two and delivered higher quality work, but I feel that lately I’ve been slipping up the past few weeks given the intensity of the deal as well as having multiple peripheral work streams. I’m 1.5 years out of college as an analyst at a middle market bank within the healthcare M&A group. Getting worked a lot but starting to operate as an associate on deals. Debating accepting an offer for a newer, lower-MM healthcare and growth focused PE firm. I know I want to go to PE at some point, but what are some thoughts on when you should go?

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.

What are bonuses like for a first year IB Analyst in London? (Think US banks like GS, MS, Citi etc.)
