Unless you are c-suite, the situation of your agency isn't under your control. Grey does seem to be spiraling a bit, but I wouldn't hold that against anyone who works there. Everyone has gotten stuck in a bad situation or took a job and realized it's not what you thought it would be. If you're feeling uneasy, start talking to people and making new connections.
Grey is now on par with JWT, Y&R, and Ogilvy, since the true creative forces that drove grey to the top have all left. However Grey has not yet fallen to the reputation it had prior to Tor.
I too, want to know more!
I worked at grey years ago and hated it and i recently worked with someone who worked at grey within the last year and that person hated it
☝️I believe the purpose of this thread is to assess if the brand of grey has either a positive or negative effect on the reputation of those that currently work there and might be looking elsewhere. I believe that a LOT of people got great work out of greyNY and can use it to move on, if they haven’t already. If you are looking to go, hopefully you were there when good work was around. If not, I don’t think the grey name is a negative at all. If this was 13 years ago, yeah. You’d be doomed
Grey’s reputation has taken a nosedive in recent years, but that wouldn’t influence how I view a candidate. If you landed an interview that means they saw something they liked already, so I wouldn’t sweat it.
