Have a formal offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role where I feel there’s not much room to grow anymore. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role which has been amazing, but it seems like Citi would require me to be there 2-3 days in the office per week - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?

The fastest way would be to take on a swe role at any company that will take you. The pay will not be very high, but you will effectively get paid to learn.
Ultimately you want to develop the depth of CS knowledge and SWE experience and can choose paths with varying commitment - pursue a CS bachelor or master's degree, do a boot camp, or continue your day job while doing eLearning and side projects to get you there.
It depends on your risk tolerance, available cash, and desired day to day experience and work life balance. If you have the time and resources, then I'd recommend the slower steadier CS program, but the other options can get you there as well.
Good advice, the best way to learn to code is ‘To Do it’..I have seen a free CS50 course or something from MIT or Stanford (don’t remember)..pls google,it covers all the fundamentals
Enroll in a coding boot camp / academy which are like 3-5 month-long programs and cost $10-20 K. They will teach you A TON and take you from a non-CS backgrounder to an entry level of higher SWE. They also have a lot of connections and help you get recruited into a role.
Don't go with the cheapest one. Go with the one that has a solid reputation and student placements in companies.
I carved a path by leveraging my experience as a systems analyst. Did the whole bootcamp ordeal and somehow landed a job at a well know tech company a year later. May not be the best way but leveraging some niche you currently use could be a shortcut to get a SWE job.
