I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

What has better WLB and comp, being a heme onc physician or climbing the ranks of D/SD/VP in R&D or commercial strategy for an oncology line? Not taking into account initial path to get to these positions.

Can anyone provide some insight on what it’s like to work in the legal department at a FAANG? Very curious to learn more about comp, WLB, types of matters, etc.

- You have your annual review with your manager
- They promote you up a level, you see your new shiny salary and title
- End meeting
- Get a DM to meet with manager the same week
- Get told that your title was “a mistake” and that you would keep the salary and but not the title. Due to a communication with upper leadership.
- 2 months later your title updates in Messaging channels and with HR with the leveled up title.

We Indians are so poor we can't think anything else except money. Whole Fishbowl is all about YOe and Salary. No one interested about if any company doing any innovation or not. B-Tech colleges put ads with Package and Campusing only. Almost 99% Indian YouTube thumbnail is like "5 lakh to 40 lakh", "Interview Experience in bracket 50Lpa" etc.. Hardly we can see Foreign Editorial things marked with Packages.

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.

I’m highly disappointed about the fact that whenever I talk to the HR teams or recruiters about joining bonus, they state there’s no provision. However, my male colleagues or ex co-workers who interviewed for the same position where offered a joining bonus. Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is.
