I am Offered 29.5fixed by PwC for SA (L2). Currently on 25fixed. Should I join ? In terms of WLB.! My current employer on fishbowl shows Deloitte but have left Deloitte a year back. Currently in a firm with good WLB but PWFH is a big win for me that PwC is offering.
Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.

You should make sure you pass the background check for the next employer if that’s the reason you’re leaving for another company. I once gave notice before the background check was cleared. They gave me the start date so I gave my two weeks notice, but you never know about the background check something could hang it up even if you have a perfectly clear background. I would say always give two weeks. Sometimes the company makes you stay sometimes they walk you out the door and pay you for the two weeks if it’s a competitor you’re going to. Yes, it always makes me nervous, especially if I like my boss. I’ve had about six different moves in the last 20 years same industry every time I get nervous. Only one micromanaging, terrible manager. I was excited to get my notice that time. Others, I just had to prep my talking points: love my job love the team, this a better opportunity for advancement better work like balance, less travel better pay, etc. Any good manager or any good person with good character will say congratulations and they are happy for you. Never badmouth the company as much as I wanted to. It’s just not worth it and be sure to handle all your opened items. I just had somebody leave and they did us all dirty. Left a bunch of work, but didn’t tell us about it. Just put it on hold and the way we’re hearing about missed items is terrible. She definitely burnt a bridge if she ever wants to come back not good look. Just be a good person and do the right thing I guess is what I’m saying.
All great advice! I also worked with someone who left a pile of work for us to do and cleanup and it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I’ll never work with her again
Most states are at will employment, meaning both you and your employer can terminate the relationship without notice. The 2 weeks is just standard courtesy. My only advise is always cc your HR in your notice to your direct manager.
Also bcc yourself. So you'll have a copy, date and timestamp when it was sent. You may get locked out of the company email.
Most will walk you out that day, and not allow you two weeks.
Must depend on the position. I’ve been on the broker side at multiple companies and I’ve only seen them do this with producers. Account managers work their whole notice.
It's wise to let your manager know ahead before you give notice to HR. But I recommend being ready to leave the minute you give notice. Get your personal files transferred from work computers, download any awards or accolades, pick important personal items from the office, things like that. Some companies will cut off your access before the 2 weeks are up.
