The worst typically have all the worst qualities: (a) makes last minute requests; (b) has an inability to commit to an approach; (c) fails to adhere to explicit instruction and heed advice of counsel; (d) consistently regurgitates demonstrably false beliefs as though they’re facts; (e) creates lengthy diatribes regarding legal theories, arguments, and potential avenues absent any grounding in fact or law; (f) feels personally attacked when others’ opinions deviate from their’s; (g) signs documents with or writes emails to opposing party without consulting counsel; (h) believes the universe is set against them; (i) maintains a constant supply of excuses; (j) complains about invoices; (k) wastes time but does not want to compensate for time; (l) constantly in arrears; (m) copies counsel on emails every time a dispute arises with another human being; (n) lies upon lies; (o) feels obliged or otherwise compelled to verbalize in every conversation “I’m a good person.”

I’ve been negotiating a settlement on behalf of a client. OP is a major corp. we’ve gone back and forth for months, almost a year. Finally came to a final agreement and we’re reviewing for final signature. Then client is reviewing and decides they want something else modified. It’s a point of contention. OP has said no. Should I communicate this to client before pushing back against OP’s rejection of the mod?

Hi guys currently I'm working in a project with very stringent timelines. Sometimes we need to put more than 13-14 hrs each day. There are 4 members in my team. Two are involved in database prt and me and my lead are involved in the front end and middle layer prt. Somehow my lead is not at all pleased with my work. And even if I try to talk to him for something he is completely rude. Sometimes it makes me that I m completely useless. Even the other team members are following the lead

Need Suggestion.

I am the only developer in my team and my manager has assigned me a project in which I need to create a tool from scratch although that is currently running in production build by third party and we don't have access to that code.

I am on notice period and I am 100% sure that project won't be completed before my LWD.

What should I do, I asked him to put some extra team members but he didn't agree, seems like he will add extra team members 2-3 weeks before my LWD.

Not everyone is a good listener.

Most people have a habit of listening to find a way to relate your story to their lives and then tell you how it relates.

A small percentage of people will listen to you, show empathy, find ways to help you, cheer you on, and overall, keep the focus on you and your needs.

Next time you have a conversation, find out who's really listening to you.

I’m 21. Maybe I just got lucky, but working in Apple retail was an incredible experience. I was only there for 7 months, but it was enough time to know it’s a place filled with love and laughter. Walking in other Apple Store’s I can feel the energy and I genuinely believe my store was unique. Managers cared and coworkers were connected. I’m going to miss talking about Apple with people, but definitely not helping indecisive assholes try on 30 different Apple Watch bands; they can suck my balls.

I’m (early30s) about 8 months into a relationship with a 40m. Things are wonderful in every aspect, but he is absolutely atrocious with his finances. I felt it becoming an issue about two months ago. He forgets about auto payments and just generally doesn’t care. I sat down with him and looked at everything and even after talking it out he still continues to stress and it’s now causing me stress. I had a final discussion with him today about it and he went on abt how love isn’t enough for me…

We are required to bill at least 150 hours per month to meet our requirement. My months are typically only 110-130 hours. It seems like the senior partners already have their “go to” associate for things. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can increase my workload? I reach out for work pretty much weekly.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?
