What's your biggest pet peeve that coworkers do? For me, it's when someone calls me out of the blue with no prior context, especially when I'm in the middle of deep work

I get exasperated when people at work tell me stories that have nothing to do with anything and there's really no reason to be telling me. I mean, it sounds misanthropic to even say this, but I really don't care about a lot of the personal stuff that people tell me. I don't need to hear it and there's nothing I can do about it. I must look like someone who wants to listen or something, because it keeps happening.

Has to be those bitter employees who've been there longer than you who try to poison your view of the company. And it's so hard to ignore them because they are the friendlier ones. Also, coworkers who like leaving their stuff on my desk

I have a coworker that makes a lot of noise during the day. I can't quite explain it other than it sounds like a whale mating call and she will sit at her desk and do it over and over for hours. I don't know why she does it and it literally drives me INSANE. When I tell you I want to scream, I literally want to scream.

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

So I have family situation I've been dealing with and yesterday at a company function outside the office, my supervisor brought it up in front of a bunch of people. First of all highly inappropriate, but also it's nobody's business. She's made comments before outside of work about how her boss is gay, blah blah blah. I'm just at a loss. Should I report it to HR? And if I do, how do I do it without it being known that it came from me??

Been on a project for 2 weeks and thinking it’s not for me. The manager is kind of rude when I ask for help/direction, but he always says to ask if things are uncertain. He always has this condescending attitude and just keeps telling me that he expects more of someone at my level, C. I just keep feeling anxious that I’m not meeting expectations and feel reluctant to ask for help. Anyone in the same boat?
