Beginning to invest. Which is better? Merrill edge or fidelity ? Have a BofA bank account and an employer Fidelity account for RSUs. Also have a TRoweprice 401k account from past employer.

Easy choice. If you have a BoFA account then you should go with Merrill Edge. You get some nice perks (and better service) once you have a certain amount across all accounts.

like

Agree. And you can transfer money between BoA and Merrill instantaneously.

Could you help me understand why? What are the factors I should consider ?

I use Merrill but have been experiencing technical issues on volatile days which is a turn off. Literally talked to someone who works a trade desk and he said “yeh people are pissed”

Most mutual funds on Merrill are expensive so I do not recommend it. If you want ETF/stocks I guess it’s ok as long as you are ok with no fractional share option. You get preferred reward which is a bonus. That said, I like fidelity better

Do you recommend signing up across 2? Like me and partner have 2 different accounts? What are the pros and cons of that ?

SO has a Morgan Stanley Account for RSUs. With that in the mix, what makes sense?

I feel like I've been living under a rock for ~5 yrs. I was happy and blowing off money with the thinking that I'll start saving once I start earning more.

Just realised that could've started early. I'm in mid 20s and thinking about investment. Tried watching YouTube videos. But I have pretty basic questions :
1. Where do I even start?
2. What %age of income should I invest?

I hope I'm not late.

Ok, after an HR screening (and salary requirements) I had 3 interviews. Then HR calls for references and to be “reminded” of salary requirements. All 3 references now contacted. Will I get an offer?

Got news that my house closing may have to be moved due to a delay in the sale of my home. My partner’s income was excluded in the DI ratio, but if it were included we’d be well under the % threshold and can be approved to close on time regardless of the sale of my house. However our mortgage company’s underwriting team has been painfully slow in confirming if her income qualifies. She’s been at her new job 1 month after a year off. Anyone with underwriting experience have insight?

1. PwC AC is offshore counterpart of PwC US. Good salary. No travel opportunities. Average yearly hike ~10% Mostly technical work.
2 PwC India is a pure consulting firm. Salary better than PwC AC. client facing work. Can grow as a management consultant. Great Travel opportunities.

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.
