What should I be considering when evaluating a business analyst role? Are these more accounting than finance, FP&A, or does it change by company?

How do referrals work?
If I get a referral from someone and I apply, then can I still reach out to a recruiter on LinkedIn expressing interest in the role? And do I let them know that I already applied? I'm a Senior system engineer completing 2 YOE but working on UI/UX designer role. My salary is equal to service ticket support role and not relevant to ux designer role. Please suggest what should I do.

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house?
