I have a burner account where I lurk somewhere in the community in order to get a feel of how it is being part of that community specifically. Once I have an idea on what everything is all about, then I get to working on how to engage them properly.
I try to set guidelines and do some social listening to see how what people are looking for and how they would like to use the community
I will spend the first month do research to find out niche even exploring other communities in our field/industry to see how things move
It really depends on the field and what are the needs of the people the community is looking too serve. A good marketing plan always makes a good foundation
Most probably you will still be in the adjustment period during those months. Setting up guidelines and familiarizing yourself with the platforms would be some of the things you need to do first.
First, you need to find your niche. And then, start creating your own content.
