Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company
Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

"Tell us about a time when you made a mistake"
This question tripped me up, nearly killed me on one of my earlier interviews. Actually probably does kill my chances. I'm human, And I know I have made mistakes in my professional and personal life. But because I have so many cross checks in place I don't have anything substantial that I can share with them. Management hasn't had to run around and freak out on me about anything major in my career. And in 12 years of Real Estate, not only did I have cross checks in place but thankfully I had brokers that would oversee my transactions. So this is the one I struggle with the most. That being said. I did get asked this question on my most recent interview, I was able to offer a weak example about transposing numbers on a software install patch, and I said the lesson I learned from that was to never manually input again and just cut and paste moving forward. They seemed to accept it. And thankfully I just wrapped up accepting the job this past Monday. ❤️🙏🏻
