McKinsey & Company I’ve been working at ZS in technology consulting for healthcare clients for 4.5 years now and looking to transition to either McKinsey or BCG.
I’m looking to connect with people who are working or have interviewed here recently to get guidance on the process and how I can prepare for it.

Any Analysis Group fish willing to share your experience the company? I am a current business school student exploring opportunities with the firm post-biz school Analysis Group. Are the cases at the interview similar to that of other firms/casebook? I understand on the high level what’s the difference between AG’s project versus traditional strategy shops but wonder if you can elaborate on this.

No, portfolios are for ux folks.
I think it’s very rare for PMs to have a portfolio. My recruiter friend confirmed it as well. But I think it’s good to have so you can take a look back at what you did and it would be helpful for interviews
Thank you very much.
I actually created one and it always made me stand out in interviews. I would always get compliments on it.
I would have a timeline of products I delivered, high level specs, value props, segmentation data, processes, and overviews of special projects I worked on. Not a lot of detail but enough to get them to ask me questions. You can steer the conversation to showcase your best work. I was a hardware product manager but you can do this with software products. You can show examples of wireframes or any other materials you created yourself.
And never leave it behind or send digital copies even if they ask!
So…. part of the reason to be careful of this is NDAs.
Portfolios are typically for people who need to show their creativity. Product folks need to show off process work.
All of my past work is covered by NDA. Some companies are litigious about their “secret sauce” and some don’t care. So I just talk generically about process and my products.
Yeah or you have to be super good about anonymizing things and leaving it vague
