When in the process of applying for a new job do you tell the company you have a two month notice requirement?

2 months? No

2 weeks? Yes

like

Conversely, that is when you will provide your current employer the 2 month notice

Yes, but at the Sr. Manager/Director/MD level that is expected. It isn’t going to blow anyone’s mind. The recruiter should ask you about your separation terms and post-employment responsibilities.

like

Requirement? Screw the company. Do they give you 2 month notice when they fire you?

like

When they ask about your desired start date.

2 weeks to 1 month. Depending on if you want to leave on good terms

Not until specifically asked.

I have never given two weeks OP. unles you signed some sort of contract that said you would give two months notice when you leave, I would definitely not be giving more than two weeks. At the end of the day you have to remember that it is a courtesy you are giving them.

For those of you that have your own book of business (big or small), how did you go about getting your own clients? I do not live in the state that I grew up in/went to college in so most of my connections are law-school related. Even if I did, I grew up in a blue collar town so any connections I do have there wouldn’t materialize into a client base. I’m a 4th year now and really want to start growing a client base but have no idea how. HELP. I do corporate transactional law in mid-tier market.
