When you get added to the Laid-Off Bowl but haven’t been notified that you’ve been laid-off

Not sure why the execs keep their jobs and layoff production. Do we need all top-level operation staff when there isn’t much left to operate? I have ahead time seeing C-suite doin any production work

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Suppose your work for employer A. You get a job with employer B who files you H1-B transfer and you get fired by employer A before the transfer is approved. Does that have any effect on transfer?

Have you been fired before even starting your new job?

I signed for a new job two months ago and will start next month (3 mo notice period in Europe). They were very keen on getting me on-board ASAP before signing but since I signed the contract it has been silent from the new employee. I've emailed them with questions as I'll be re-locating to NL and it takes them 1-2 weeks to reply. Given all that's going on in the world, I'm worried they might fire me before I even start.

Expecting an offer today from Deloitte consulting (commercial). Would love to hear tips and advice on how to react to the call and negotiate/what to negotiate more for. I was laid off back in the fall and will 100 percent take the offer - super excited!! But don’t want to show my emotions. TIA

On notice period 2 months left and have offer from Infosys with 120% hike.
.NET tech- 3.5 years of experience.(support)
No other offer as of now. Any suggestions on this situation. I am trying in other companies as well.

When is the payment cycle for EY GDS, generally on which date do we receive our salary. I'm a new joinee.

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?
