I don’t know why we trust other accounting departments to have 100% correct information when we know our clients are not 100% correct.
Wait a minute….
The best AR confirm I ever got back was ‘Fuck Off’
I'm sure you have already realized that complaining about it being annoying on here took longer than it took you to resolve the communication gap.
They don't understand what you are trying to achieve. Clarify that for an audit, you have to confirm the balance *as of* 12/31/24. Ask them to show when the invoice was posted in their system. If the posting date was in January or February (since it was paid in February), ask them to confirm when they received the invoice.
What are you even talking about. People who know know that we send out hundreds of these things and the time it would take to call every single person, walk them through what we are doing from an audit perspective and gaap acctg takes too much time. It is easier to get the bank documents and vouch than the latter when you have such tight deadlines to meet.
Lol, people in AR don't always know what you do all day - they clearly didn't understand what you were requesting. No matter how many you send out per day, you are not going to get this one resolved until they understand what you were asking them for.
So true!
No it’s true though. We send out line millions of confirmations and AR clerks still have no idea how to fill them out correctly.
