Where can I get some good career advice for someone starting out in the business world ?
I've got a business degree and I'm currently working as a business analyst but l'm not sure I see a future career in it.
Any time l've tried getting career advice, l've paid way too much money for a basic questionnaire you'd get in secondary education.
Surely there are people who can give you detailed options in a specific field? I’d pay anything for someone to actually know what they’re talking about 😩

Hello all, I am a production manager for a sign design and manufacturing company. I have been with the company for six years now starting as lead graphic designer working my way to the production manager. since becoming the production manager two years ago I am responsible for 4 large format printers and 1 vinyl plotter. I’m wearing too many hats but I love what I do. I would love to be a remote graphic designer but I don’t know where to start. Any suggestions?

Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

Any recommendations for books/articles/other materials regarding development deals? I’ve been doing CRE transactions for years, but I just started a new role that includes a big development component. I’d love something that walks me through the major components of a development deal/explains when certain AIA forms get used, etc. (to supplement the training I’m getting from my boss)

Is it any surprise we’re seeing mass layoff in tech? Years of rich friends hiring rich friends with no work ethic has lead us here. I know way too many tech people who work maybe an hour a day followed by errands and traveling. A lot of getting in these places is who you know, apparently that doesn’t work out like it used to.
