Visiting a friend at his parents’ house in his home country. I knew he had a sister but wow. We dated cross-border and until we got married (35 years ago). She’s still amazing!

Instagram… i started following him because he’s hot and he dm’d me because I’m hot.
Turns out he’s supportive, sweet, stable, and our values align. We’ve been together 7 months and expect to stay strong.

A wedding. One of my high school best friends married one of his college best friends and the wedding was in their college town (nowhere near where either of us lived), but we both happened to be moving to the same city (also nowhere near the wedding or either hometown) within the next 6 months. 13 years and two kids later...

My mom's brother got married to someone who lived in another state. The wedding was in the bride's hometown. Mom had never been there before, so the bride arranged for her cousin (my dad, eventually) to show her around.

Because Mom's brother married Dad's cousin, their kids are my first cousins AND my second cousins. It usually takes some explaining to convince people that I am not the product of inbreeding.

Dating app. 🤣
The chances of meeting someone actually compatible in the wild are very very low.
The fact that you're anti app makes me think you don't photograph well. Go ask your more polished/photogenic friends for help on how to present better on apps and get back out there.

Yikessss this makes me think you don’t look good in person and only photograph well….

I bought a house in the suburbs of Chicago at the top of the market. I ended up moving out of state in 2017 and short-selling. I am now interviewing for a VP Accounting role with the mortgage company that got shafted by the short sale. If I get the job offer, can they/will they see this on my credit report? Can they pull the offer due to this? Should I tell them before we advance further?

I impulsively spent $400 on concert tickets before I left my last job. Now I’m entering my third month at a new job and I’m worried it’s too early to take off to go. At the very least I would have to sign off an hour or two early to be able to make it on time. But I feel awkward asking because generally I wouldn’t take off this early. For context, I have unlimited PTO.

[CAN] Corp Fin/M&A, TAS, Val Salaries

Canadian salary data for these service line seem almost none existent on fishbowl/reddit.
Currently completing my first year as Senior in Audit and its become pretty apparent that going through the whole manager pipeline isn't really what I'd like to do. Looking to explore options and would like to hear some real time figures, especially CF/MA and TAS - as I'm looking to make the pivot to IB hopefully in the future.

Thanks

I’ve been told my company is changing my title from Associate Director of BD to Sales Executive. I’m concerned it reads like a title demotion. Is it just semantics? How will this look for my career development? Curious about the standard perception of Sales Executive from a seniority perspective. Where does this land on the sales roles hierarchy? For context, it’s a professional services firm, I’ve been there 3+years, and they gave a Sales Executive title to someone who just started 5mo ago.

I’m junior to two Legal Counsel (I work in-house) who are passive aggressive towards each other. They don’t attend each other’s meetings and leave each other out of email CC’s. It’s pretty clear this is done on purpose as one of them has bitched to me about the other.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
