In my experience software engineers with a masters don’t get much more consideration for a job than anyone else (I have a masters in software engineering and nobody seems to care which I kind of agree with lol, it was more for personal gain)
Before working for Elastic I did contracting work for a government agency. Most if not all government/federal jobs consider degrees in lieu/combination of experience. Bachelors degree or 4 years experience, Masters or 6-8. most ctr jobs follow LCATs which will allow you to mix and match
How has your experience at Elastic been? I'm curious, as I have just accepted an AE role there and I kind of feel like I'm taking a blind leap of faith in doing so. Curios about what your experience has been like!
Every company does consider it, but, what you do during the degree matters more than the degree itself
Side projects, courses you took etc
It’s not work experience so it couldn’t count as such, however if the job requires 2+ years and you have a masters with 1.5 or so I would consider you
I think M.Sc is good while searching for your first job, and for enhancing your skill set only! For personal use -let’s say!
I think that while checking CVs the degree doesn’t matter if you have industry XP.
I have many years of work experience and 2 masters degrees. In tech, those degrees are meaningless. It's your skills and experience that matter. I completed my 2nd degree for personal gain.

I disagree that graduate degrees are generally meaningless; there are jobs that require them. But they are never considered equivalent to work experience, which is what OP is asking.
Chief
None that I know of. Education is not equivalent to experience.
