Alix, A&M, S&, LEK, Kearney and OW in that order. The first two actually pay better in many cases than MBB. It is a pretty sweet job with no up and out pressures. In the case of Alix they've poached a ton of our talent.
What numbers are we talking about here? Its like shooting in the dark!
Yes.

For quasi generalist firms, S& and ATK.
S& is not a generalist firm, you align with a vertical on Day 1 and do virtually all your work in that vertical.
PEPI pays $600K+. I’m sure RX is nearly $800K.
S&1, WLB is generally quite manageable at A&M. But the restructuring group is understandably super busy this year - they’ll probably get a big pay day since total comp is a linear function of utilization.
The people I know at A&M generally quite like the firm and few are willing to leave (money is a big factor - hard to say no to $500k+ for an average year). It’s got a good culture and great reputation in restructuring and PE DD.

SM at S& should be ~$270-340 in a non pandemic year. >50% only stay at that level for less than 2 years

Yep. By my math the max a director can make is ~450 k
A&M and AlixParners. Depending on group, you can make a lot at A&M if you stay highly utilized. At Alix, it’s less dependent on billables and you can makes anywhere between $350 and $700+ depending on your client work, the skills you bring in, and other practice development areas.
Not uncommon in TRS - we compete with A&M for the same group of people and A&M pays that much.
What you said is probably true for EI - with the exception of other firms’ partners who join at the top of the Director level.
