For me, it works getting a goal in mind, then setting a timer to get it done. After that, I go for a walk with my dog and come back to the next one.

I haven't gone as far as getting a phone lock box, but I do find it really helpful to keep my phone in another room. That way if I wanna check it, I have to get up to do so, and it usually reminds me to sit back down and get back to work. I almost always have ASMR going in the background because it's not as distracting to me as talking or lyrics, but it helps me ignore all the other sound around me.

Not really “physical” but i use an app called Opal to block social media on my phone for scheduled hours. It works pretty good.

Noise cancelling headphones, a standing desk, a walking pad, and a dry erase board. The standing desk and walking pad help me stay physically active while I'm working, and the whiteboard is great for notes and keeping a visual schedule in front of me at all times. I'm curious about the weighted vest. I've used these for workouts every once in a while, but never thought about incorporating them into my work day. I might grab one to throw on while I'm on the walking pad to make it a little more strenuous.

Honestly I probably need a phone lockbox. However, people contact me for work related stuff on my personal phone. It's just too easy for me to fall down the rabbit hole of Tik Tok and Instagram.

I find adding more stimuli helps me focus. I’ll throw in 6 cds into my cd changer, play it on my speakers, put on a season of a show in the dvd player with the tv on mute, a stress ball and put my phone face down away from me. Somehow all that makes me focus. Maybe a little too much that sometimes i lose track of time

Anyone move to this group from Accenture ?

I am not sure who needs to hear this but exactly one year ago, I was at my lowest point in life. Today, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Life has truly been a rollercoaster these past few years for me.

I am sharing this to tell you that no matter what you’re feeling right now, it won’t last. Even the happiness I feel right now, I’ve had that stripped from me multiple times. That is LIFE. We have the good and the bad.

Hang in there if times are bad. If things are good, prepare to lose it too.

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I know I’m not alone that people don’t want to return to the office. My ADHD and the open office just makes working from the office a nightmare and I’m feeling really nervous and kind of resentful.

Just restarted stimulants and already I'm dealing with twitches again. Does anyone else get these? No type of pain or anything just every once and a while my body will twitch strongly. Afterward I feel normal, but it's a bit annoying, and I can't control it at all which is a little disconcerting. Don't remember this from when I took stimulants as a kid, but it's been a while.
