I’m currently in the process of being converted from contractor to permanent. In my initial conversations I was under the impression that I was in a different pay grade and asked for a salary 25k higher than the max allotted for my position. For all the business/data analysts out there, do you ever feel like your job is draining you? Like it doesn't really make a difference, the work is really ambiguous or you never feel like you're doing a good enough job? I don't know if it would be different at another company, but I seriously don't understand why so many people are trying to break into this field. Maybe it just isn't for me.

I've been almost 3 years in my previous company and never have I ever tasted any raise from them. I got transferred to different accounts and LOB it was so exhausting and finally when I decided to leave and send my resignation my Supervisor be like "you know you should be thankful of your job" To be honest the job was very stressful and supervisor at some point is somehow toxic but thankful I get to take my leave.

I recommended a candidate for hire to a manager that reports directly to me. This person is a perfect match, but wanted the manager to obviously recommend. It has to be a fit. The manager just told me my recommendation is not her top pick. I feel frustrated because as much as we talk about the position, I wonder if we are mot aligned on criteria. What do I do? Do I push more for the person I want or will I cause an issue with the hiring manager? How do I get her to see this person’s value?

I grew up very poor. I get extreme anxiety and shame when I spend money above $20. Deep down I feel like I should scrounge and save every penny. I use bath towels that are 10 years old and threadbare cause I can't bring myself to buy a "luxury item" despite making oodles of money and have a ton saved and invested.

Currently sitting in my sweatpants with a full groutfit. Rediscovered a pair of blue sweatpants that I left at my parent’s place during the holidays and brought that back. Have a similarly colored soft blue hoodie that I wear with it. Now I alternate between my groutfit and bloutfit biweekly to synchronize with my laundry schedule. I go outside wearing it too. Should I be proud or concerned???
