Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Not everyone is laid off for performance / bad reasons.
Careful OP, this could be you in the near future
Cause some of them will refer people when they are on their way out the door. They think get the referral bonus and bounce. That's why!!!
Op- I just saw a post from someone who was let go from either pwc or D- then in 2 months landed a job in McK. So a blanket statement that all that are laid off are poor performers is bull shit. Don't drink the cool-aid. Lots of data points go behind it- firm health, roadmap, pipeline, forecast, etc.....
Oh please Op. Please come out if your bubble. People can get laid off at any time for any reason. Don't delude yourself that it's a performance thing, it's not.
Most people who are/were laid off probably thought the same thing. No one is safe, so best be as empathetic as possible and don't judge
Yikes, didn't think everyone would take it this way. I was referring to when people say they were fired, and then someone immediately says "I'll refer you" without gathering any other info
For a ref bonus - it seems like a bad idea but thats the driver
I agree it's silly. However, people do silly things for money. Especially when they are about to leave the firm.
Because there are actually good people in this industry and sometimes you need to pay it forward.
Great point
Good points all around - I was just curious. Doubt I'll be laid off PwC 1, but thank you for the concern.
People get fire for bad performance not laid off. Get ur fact straight Op!
1. Aside from the referral bonus if the person joins the firm, I think it's good karma man to help people when they're hit with something like that. I would not make it past Tuesday (financially) if I got laid off on Monday.
I'm not saying everyone who gets laid off is in the same boat, but any helping hand extended towards someone who has been laid off is great. Heck, how is any different than networking with people and helping them or getting helped or mentoring new hires in the firms?
2. To your point about it being for performance related reasons, I think responses above have hit the nail on the head. It's not always about performance.
Nope OP - your post mentions the word "laid off" Twice so no you did not mean people that were fired. Stay grounded, stay humble .
Karma...some day you will need their help
