What annoyes me even more is how people keep sending out stupid Verizon dial ins vs. Skype! Can't share the screen, don't see who is only.... One would expect that people know how to use Skype...
Internally, I 100% agree. For client meetings, we always end up wasting 15 minutes because half the clients can't join Skype meetings. One would also expect everyone to know how to use excel and PowerPoint. We all know that's not the case. Same is true with Skype.
90s? We used Verizon exclusively 2 years ago.
Well some people don't always have their skype front and center. I'm working or surfing the web with the screen in the background instead of tracking who is on
Maybe it's some throwback to the 90s when people could only call in to conference calls?
I think it's common practice to say hello once you dial in. It's not announcing exactly.
"(Insert name) is on the call."
All I hear
That's the automated thing. I don't like that. I'd rather dial in and actually talk "hey <name> here."
C1, we know you're there. It's Skype. We can see your name, and if your only contribution to the entire meeting is introducing yourself, I don't need you.
So, your excuse is, "I'm surfing the web and messing around for a couple minutes, let me announce my name?"
Who ever said about contributions to meetings. You go wayy off on tangents.
Yes that's my excuse. Have fun working
