Northrop Grumman Why is there such disparity in the pay range listed on the job req and the pay range posted on Glassdoor? i.e. Job req lists Sr. Principal Project Manager as $99K - $140K but Glassdoor shows an average pay over $150K for the same title. I know there is some variation due to locality but that doesn't explain a difference this big.

What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex. Two people do the same job but one is paid more or given a larger bonus “because they have kids and you live alone” or “because their family is struggling”. Is that an ethical factor if both employees do the same job at the same pace, quality, etc?

I got an offer at Nokia, and my new manager said that she wanted to put me in the higher salary bracket however the HR insisted that we lowered the range. That caused me to receive a much lower salary than expected. Should I renegotiate even when my manager said that she tried giving me more. Does HR really play that big of a role in this?
