Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? I joined in Accenture as level 8. Prior to joining, I was apporached by a project, and they seemed to not convince with my lack of knowledge about the role hence they dropped me even after contacting couple of times. Now I have got call from another one and they also seem to be not fully sure because my last role was very different. My question is how difficult is it to get a project in Accenture? Will this interviews continue? Also, what are the chances of me getting a suitable role?

You’ll be more marketable to other fs roles and less marketable everywhere else. Banks have very different financial reporting issues so it’s harder to leave to another industry. Meanwhile something like pharma and retail can have a lot of overlap so it’s easier to transition. As you move up the chain, it’s harder to change industries regardless because industry knowledge becomes more valuable
What's your current role and how many years of experience? I want to break into SEC reporting but haven't had any luck.
The answer - it depends. At my PA firm, we have had two Senior Managers in the FS industry leave, both taking roles in other industries. It is a specialized set of knowledge, but accounting is accounting at the end of the day and just know it may take 3-6 months to catch on to the accounting nuances if you switch industries. If you want to be a CFO, think SEC Reporting is your best path, and this is the best opportunity to take a step forward, this wont be limiting. 2-3 years in an industry is a lot different than if you did FS for 10-15 years
You missed the point I was making. The point is, it depends on what your end goal is
I just started an SEC reporting role at an F500 and the senior manager and director on my team had no experience in this industry before working at my current company. I did a lot of interviews the past few months and it wasn’t uncommon to meet people that switched industries a few times.
