Got a feeling that it would drag down the overall value of MBAs (traditional and online) rather than lifting the value of online MBAs. Having gone through business school, a lot of the value is in the in-person interactions and opportunities to network with both companies and classmates. That’s mostly lost in an online setting (if you’ve been on online “happy hours” or “coffee breaks”, the awkwardness is very evident).
It’s also very hard to have side conversations as you would in real life. Everyone is essentially listening to one person talk at a time and if you want a side conversation about something related with someone else, you have to text /IM them on the side.
Rising Star
No. Anyone with half a brain will put their MBA off a year instead of getting another useless online degree

It depends on which program. IMO, if you wanna get an MBA to just learn the materials then it’s ok; however if you want a true value of the MBA experience, especially at higher ranked programs, it may not be feasible.
I’d argue the benefits of top tier programs isn’t in the content but the networking opportunities it provides. That’d be hard to replicate in an online only environment where participants are all over the country.
In 10-20 years, maybe. This isn’t doesn’t happen overnight.
