Bain & Company Worked for ~1 year in Fintech, then switched to a boutique management consulting firm in London 8 months ago. High performer, running for promotion within my first year of consulting

I am now trying to switch to MBBs to focus more on strategy. Anyone here working at those firms in London up for a chat? I’m not considered an experienced hire yet, but not a fresh graduate either. Thank you!

If I were to hire you and invest in coaching you, why would I think that you won’t jump ship for the next best thing 12 months later?

I wouldn’t be concerned with starting from zero, although that is partly why I would like to switch as soon as possible. Starting from zero would actually be something I’m looking forward to. I heard that lateral hires are not seen well from colleagues.

Thank you for your input!

need advice.

I have been working in an interim role as a portfolio manager. I was promised that the role would be mine. However, after doing the job for 2 months, I have been advised that we might not get the funding for the role and I might not get the raise and the title but my responsibilities will be the same.

Its a political minefield.

How should I back out elegantly that I need to be compensated fairly and competitively from this mess without burning any bridges

How is it when it comes to your career development?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.
