I seem to be having trouble even getting interviews for tech product roles. Are companies looking for people with more years experience? I also don't have hard CS skills other than SQL/R; is this an area should be focusing on?

I have an urgent situation that I need advice for: what job to take? I currently have 2 job offers. Offer A (Scientist 3): 70k with full benefits including 15 PTO days and 5k tuition assistance yearly. I have gotten a verbal offer from Facebook, but I just had my phone screen interview with the hiring manager at Amazon yesterday. I want to reach out to the recruiter at Amazon and let them know what the timeline looks like. I would much rather have the Amazon job over the Facebook one. But I’m afraid if I decline Facebook then Amazon won’t happen. I’m just completely lost.

Went through multi-day loop for L5 SA and felt confident in my interactions. Presentation went well with no lack of answers for follow up questions. Just found out 6 days later I will not be receiving an offer, and it is policy to not provide feedback of gaps or reasons behind no offer. Also found out they ask you not to reapply for 1 to 2 years for same role. Would anyone recommend an alternate path for feedback on interview (outside of recruiter) and is the 1-2 year policy true?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.

Got laid off for the first time in my career 3 weeks ago. I have 10 years of PM experience (mostly ecommerce & experimentation). I was fortunate in the past to have had recruiters scout me directly so this is the first time in over a decade that I am applying to everything that I’m qualified for, mostly qualified for, and way over qualified for with zero leads. Only 3 interviews thus far that didn’t go forward.

In the past these have been sent directly to manager but is there another way to collect them to present to manager/hr? Is it weird to ask them to send directly to me for me to present?

I work with a junior PM who is not performing. Not my report, we share a mgr, but as a senior PM I lead the product. He can’t finish anything, needs a lot of coaching, I give him 2h/wk but I can’t afford more.
After 2mos I raised it to our mgr who promised to work with him. 2 more mos passed, mgr talked to him only once, no change in perf. I think mgr doesn’t want to deal with the problem. Now they ask if I want to manage JPM. It is going to be a ‘no’ but I want to ask some advice on all this.
