Working couples with young kindergarten-age kids: how do you manage childcare e.g. the morning routine, or when school is closed etc?

Presumably you don’t have a nanny as the kids are in school 5 days a week, and the kids are too small to be independent at home when they are out of school.

What’s your solution?

How many married professionals with young families are just sticking it out “for the kids”? Marriage is very dead and has been for a while. Young kids 4 and 1. My wife and I don’t fight, but share 0 interests outside of the kids and can’t stand to be around each other. I’m so ready to leave… I just can’t bear the thought of doing it to my children even though another part of me feels like wife and I would both be better parents if our lives were separate. Anyone else done a similar analysis?

My SO adds very little to our relationship. She has a dead end job. I cook. I work. I oversee finances. I plan trips. She doesn’t have a voice in the relationship. I’ve asked her to give her perspective but she always defaults to mine bc she thinks I’m smarter/worldly. She feels intimated by me and my social circle. Lately, I’ve found myself thinking for her. What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽

I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. I stick around because I think it’s more a personality trait and not that he’s not interested in me (maybe I’m naïve). Could really use some encouragement from a bunch of strangers.

Something has been bothering me for a long time and I want to get it off my chest.

My firm does upward feedback and I asked about 10 of my team to participate so that I could be a better supervisor for them. My results: I got mostly great feedback with constructive points, however along with it I received the meanest, most cold hearted criticism I’ve ever seen (con’t in comments).

Please help me rationalize through something:
2 kidneys but can only give 1 (potentially):

Am I the only one whose time entries get worse the busier and more chaotic a specific case is? Like for example preparation for a dispositive hearing with a lot of factual and legal issues that’s treated like a fire drill. I'm not a reporter, I'm just a citizen who took a picture during an event and uploaded it to my social media account. Turns out a digital media wrote me to have permission to use my picture, and when I said yes, they said they were looking for some other picture because I had already given permission to the competitors, which I didn't.
