Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.
does anyone here work at Veeva Crossix?

As a BCGer, I’d say pick Bain Chicago.
Minneapolis is just a boring place to live…
BCG Chicago, on the other hand, is a wonderful place.
Rising Star
Do you like really genuinely nice people? Then Minneapolis area it is. 😀
Bain Chicago is one of the best Bain offices! I work in a different office and Chicago is consistently Top 3 in employee satisfaction across all of Bain each year
Depending on what you are looking for, I agree that Chicago is vastly superior to Minneapolis as a city, unless you have roots in Minneapolis. But BCG Minneapolis is the chillest BCG office I’ve seen, it’s uncanny how different their culture is compared to even Chicago
I agree with this. Minneapolis office has an awesome culture, better than Chicago imo. That said, Minneapolis is a smaller city so if you don’t already have friends and a support system it may not be the best choice
BCG MIN Is the BEST!!!!! You get the small office support, but the opportunity to still work on projects across offices. We have people in our office that do work across basically every practice area. When I started during COVID, I had 3 different MDPs reach out to welcome me and set up time to talk. Many of the leaders in our office are most energized when coaching and developing their people. I think the two options are quite different, but better depends on what you want to optimize.
BCG’s Minneapolis office is wonderful! Great culture and people.
I’ve been with Bain Chicago for a few years now, and it’s been the best years of my life. Come here - you’ll love it. We’re a family. :)
In the Bain Chicago office and honestly really enjoy it! The start classes are all super close and usually have things going on throughout the weekend. Project work has been very interesting so far, clients appreciate what we do, and WLB has been manageable. Obviously, this will vary by case and has slightly heavier hours if you go into PEG, but even then there has been a push since covid to make it as sustainable as possible from an hours perspective
I think the Bain Chicago office is larger and likely a stronger culture. If you’re cross-offered and you would choose BCG Chicago over Bain Chicago if you had the BCG Chicago offer, I’m sure you can ask the recruiter if the offer can be switched to another office. It’s not unheard of.
What are you optimizing for?
For BCG vs Bain generally, great news is they are both excellent options. Some things I tend to hear from people who chose BCG over Bain is they were looking for broader options in their case work (both industry/function and access to staffing outside their home office/region), and felt really supported and energized by BCGers.
Is this a full time or internship offer?
In a bcg vs Bain conversation, I’d lean towards bcg unless you want to do PE work. However as an alum at one of the Chicago b-schools, I know/met a lot of people at Bain Chicago who were phenomenal across all levels.
Additionally, bcg Minneapolis is super small and while my experience is limited to small sample size, they have a couple of very toxic managers out there. Given the size, it might be unavoidable to work for them and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Also, Minneapolis is a ridiculously boring city IMO
This comment does not make a ton of sense to me since we do not staff by office. Also, I can name 1 toxic manager in an office of 90 people. To me a sign of strong culture/office is the PL to Jr. MDP level rock stars from perspective of senior leadership are also the rock stars from the A/C perspective. This is definitely true for BCG MIN office.
