Everyone’s a VP in finance so I wouldn’t pay attention to the title that much. Focus on the pay and growth potential.
Oh :/ okie dokie
If it's a real VP role, where the bank starts people at Analyst/Associate than promotes to AVP to VP go SVP to Director to MD; grab it. That's very young for a VP role. Not to mention most VP roles will pay between 130k-180k base
You have to remember titles in FS are over inflated. VP isn’t a big deal
Depends on the LOB. I was a VP at JPMC with a $130k base and had peers in retail making a $70k base.
Update: salary is $130k, currently at $85k. But I can’t imagine working in industry..is jump back to consulting difficult?
Bro/Sis, jumping back to consulting is easy. Take the job.
I think OP is wondering if the have enough experience to come in and be effective as VP - what is the role, so you have the skill set?
FS positions at that level are pretty monotonous and regimented. Compare growth opportunities and align to your goals. As A2 said, VP is like “analyst or consultant” in the consulting industry...
Ah ok I don’t really know what the levels are, I think my advice still holds but seems it isn’t as Sr as I thought...
What’s the pay? It depends
No idea at this point. Mostly curious if it’s stupid to exit before gaining more experience in innovating/interesting projects. Not sure how much value I could bring without more experience.
Depends on portfolio and stability of business of client. Make sure you know what you are getting into.
Do you have a job description? Or salary info?
Is the pay much better?
Well, its probably a good opportunity anyways. Bank VPs are the equivalent of managers in consulting. So its a good opportunity to develop your people management chops.
