Based off all factors, this usually helps if everything is paid on time
Pro
Case study: My credit score is consistently 800+. I have been paying extensive student loans on time for 17 years.
That's awesome. I guess it's a small positive!
Or does it actually help most?
Most likely, especially one that has not yet started paying back their payments and thinks they are entitled to a bailout from Uncle Sam lol Most people worked hard to payback their loans and these are the responsible people who see the un-justness of such an action, when someone else has to bail them out.
I’ve been paying for 12 years, score has been slightly below or above 800 after always paying on time + other credit strategies. When I recently consolidated my student loans, my score went up 12 points to 817.
