Yes if you can literally live wherever
Absolutely. Can drastically reduce cost of living by moving out of NYC to make that 180k go much further on a day to day basis.
MD2 - are you saying it's important because the person is expensive and could be looked at as opportunity to be cut?
100%! Cost of living in NY plus quality of life there just sucks. Much better anywhere else. Go for it!
10000% lol
Depends. If the firm has implemented electronic monitoring (like Insightful, ActivTrak, Hubstaff, etc.) to keep tabs on remote workers, that'd be a hard 'no.' Otherwise, the flexibility is great, so, yes.
Yes, when can I start? 😆
I did something similar a few years back and am very happy with my decision;
If you move to a no State Income tax, state then it’s a wash
For gas alone... YES
Yes, I have worked all options fully remote with travel to customer site, fulltime in office and hybrid in the Boston area
How is this even a question
I would definitely take a cut in my average base to have additional family time!
Yes.
100%
Depends on the role and your experience. Fully remote sounds great but is it a good way to develop
I am the One
Was that a serious question? Of course! No second thoughts given...
Yes, if you will leave New York.
Hell ya - would still go to the office. And wouldn’t move. 180 is just a-ok. No kidz no mortgage. Why tf not?
Yes
Heck yeah, don't fall for the status trap
absolutely.
