Would you travel to San Fran right now? (Non essential) I am not concerned about contracting coronavirus but the ethicality is weighing on me.

Ethicality isn’t a word, but even if it was wtf do ethics have to do with this?

likefunny

FFS if you aren’t sure what I meant by “ethicality”, use your Google machine to figure it out.

Essentially, I don’t feel great about contributing to the spread of coronavirus to at-risk individuals by continuing leisure travel to areas of the US/world with (relatively) a lot of cases. Make sense?

I assume they mean they could carry it back to wherever they live, which is kind of messed up

I wouldn’t given we’ve stopped traveling to clients there.

Traveling to London next month, no plans of cancelling the trip...

like

I was on a 23 hour flight from Sydney to London and discovered when I landed this morning that my financial markets conference was cancelled while in the air because screens red everywhere and feels like 2008 again. Most people on the ground is carrying on with life as usual (and so they should) but I checked in with colleagues at several banks and many corporate access events across this week have also been cancelled. Even if you don't plan on cancelling your trip, things are starting to get a bit tight with airlines reducing a lot of flights and now the UK health minister wandering around for a whole week in parliament with Boris before testing positive, plus Schengen being revoked across Europe to protect borders. It's not the travelling part I'm concerned about, it's about getting home and I don't want to be 14 days stuck in isolation going crazy.

Yes I cancelled my trip. Thanks all!

Ethnicity?

NO. Try to stay put for a few weeks for your own benefit. They just deployed the National Guard to New Rochelle, situations can’t escalate quickly.

No. Lots of things are closed and cancelled. Check out local Bay Area news like SF chronicle or Mercury News for a better idea of how things are going down.

What is the drug culture like at your office? I assume people don’t openly talk about what they do in their free time if illicit, but they may do so quietly or you can otherwise tell.
Do you get the impression many people do them? If so, soft drugs (ex - weed)? Hard drugs? Non-prescribed study drugs? Frequency? At work-sponsored social functions? To an extent that it’s noticeable/problematic?

I think living a frugal life and aiming to retire early makes a lot of sense.

Recently, some of my family members are diagnosed with a rare diseases. When you look at the statistics, these are so many of these ‘rare’ conditions and cumulatively they are not rare.

These family members conditions made me reevaluate how I want to spend my life. I am 35 this year and I can’t decide if I should take great vacations with my kids or keep living a frugal life. Do you have the same dilemma?

Say I had a “friend” who gained 15 Covid lbs but is still on dating apps with old pics. Is that considered catfishing? She’s not overweight, but not fit anymore. Still good looking...she suspects. Does anyone use a brokerage account instead of a checking account? Mine offers a fee free debit/atm card and free checks which I'd rarely use but starting to question whether it is worth maintaining my "big bank" checking account that requires a $1500 minimum balance.

I also have a local credit union checking/savings that I'd use if I need any services or to deposit cash and a HYSA that gets my paycheck, is used for mortgage and credit card payments, and to transfer to checking or investments.
