I’m 51 and a consultant. Am I too old to be this level. Starting to feel like it.

I will be 50 in January. Close enough? I am a consultant in the data analytics, expertise is in Adobe Analytics.

This week I found an app on playstation4 and Apple TV streaming called Pluto Tv. It’s free and has a bunch of old shows playing 24 / 7. Including MST3K, the Rifleman.

Has anyone here been able to recover from career setbacks caused by Dot Com, 9-11, or Great Recession economy? Just turned 40 with 15 years of relevant industry experience, and my Big 4 employer broug… more

I just realised that all the women over 50 in my practice have been "counseled out" (including me) or put on a PIP this year.

I just turned 50. Now what? What goals did you set for yourself when you turned 50? All ideas welcomed!!!!

Has Covid changed your retirement plans? What is your targeted retirement age?

Fairly recently divorced and feeling the financial pinch of having one income. Unfortunately my salary is not in the 6 figures. I am afraid I need a second job (part-time). Is anyone else in a similar… more

Yesterday my younger brother called me looking for good hidden swimming spots in the mountains. He was up there with a bunch of friends and their original plans had fallen apart hard. And I go much more often than he does.

Last Friday I got a call from my group lead Partner, that the person from Markets running a proposal I'm working on is complaining that I don't work fast enough.

Anyone else have trouble separating who you are from what you do? I think a lot of our generation built our self identity around our work. If I take my work away, I'm not really sure who I am.

WTF. I feel like I went directly from "rising star" to "fading star", without actually ever shining.

What do you suggest people under 30 do to put a stop to ageism?

I realize this isn't a dating bowl so forgive me in advance.

Are there any over 50 males serious about meeting an over 50s female?

Life is short and I truly don't know where to meet age appropr… more

Any male 🐟 that can share the experience of starting alpha blockers? I take it at bedtime and feel like I have a head cold in the morning. Dizzy all day too.

Weird question alert: When did your daughters start “developing?” Noticing signs in my soon to be ten year old, which is a little concerning, as my sister has huge...tracks of land. Would rather my da… more

I'm so tired of working. I just want to buy a little place in the country and live a simple life.

My observation is that it is hard for consulting partners to land the quality public or private board roles everyone naturally targets. Despite there being a significant amount of exceptional talent t… more

My regular GP doesn't take Cigna, which is my new workplace insurance, so looking for a new general practitioner in NYC. Healthy so mostly for annual physical and the occasional something minor. M… more

Is anyone changing their retirement plans based on COVID-19 realities and the future of work.

Wonder how much more of this rat race I can take and starting to think about where to retire. What places are on your list and why? I need ideas and inspiration!

My dreams of retiring in 3 years have disappeared with the stock market decline.... Unfortunately, my retirement income sitting heavily in 401K.😕 Anyone else feeling the same?

Do you use or have you used First Command Financial Planning? If so, what’s your experience with them?

Would you date a 30 year old? If so, why?

Didn't make it to a 2nd round interview for a role I'm well suited for. Seriously bummed

I will never make Partner. Am worried people only see an old, irrelevant lady now. How do you cope?

Gotta say I LOL’d at this.

Daily Rate for Associate role in a Big 4? Looking for some guidance. Considering dropping from the Partner/MD treadmill for “expert” “grey hairs” role. What’s people’s experience and daily rate?

How do early retirees manage health insurance before Medicare eligibility? We're expecting to travel enough that a job with healthcare benefits may not be viable.

Feeling like my life is racing by being on the road 20 years, and saddens me that when I get home tonight my SO leaves on a business trip.

I’m a former McK consultant, 51, based in San Francisco. Wondering if there are low-travel/better lifestyle roles in consulting companies these days? I loved McK but couldn’t play the same role.

At what age did you exit Consulting? Do you think all the traveling has affected your health adversely?

Any thoughts on the put down, “Ok, Boomer”

Any one considered doing part time Consulting engagements via Services like MBO, Catalent GLG etc. Seems like a good way to stay in the game earn some extra income but do it on an Ad hock basis.

That was just a preview…
