What’s the next move when you’re this age, at plateau of career, not going any further and burned out, but have to work for at least 5-7 more years? Would love to hear from those who made a fulfilling move.

Only issue with what you’re saying is that they will reduce your salary but still expect the same work. I’ve seen it happen

Not when I offer a demotion to be clear. Managing 7 people right now will not be feasible with my current hours so a change will be evident when I ask for 35 hrs.

Get out of consulting and get an industry job

Went independent and started freelancing 5 ago - worked my network and pitched on “project aggregator” sites and high end agency (job) “matchmaking” type services. Then started a side hustle. Have been doing this for 5 years now and now that I’ve found a niche, I can break even working 3-5 months less than as an employee or increase revenue by working more billable hours or negotiating a better rate.

How many months duration is your avg project? How many clients do you support at once?

I am in the same boat and considering my options as well. Don’t see myself finishing this way and would love to get something little more routine with less hours even if less pay .

I have thought about asking for part time 35/hrs later this year and even saying I’ll take a level down to get it . Looking at my leadership, I don’t really feel getting to MD is going to make me happy. I’m also really tired of 60+ hrs/week while being paid 40.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

I told him I had map pins that are EXACTLY what you need for these hard to find places. I can send them in 10 mins when I get home.

Reply? Forget it, I'm all set.

Yep, 10 mins is too long. Here I was expecting "Wow! That's fantastic!" How silly of me.
