Hi everyone! I was working in media before the pandemic and unfortunately was a casualty. Is anyone’s company hiring? I’m in Florida but would be willing to relocate or wfh. I’ve been job searching for the past 8 months so I figured I’d try networking on fishbowl! I was in an entry level position so I would be willing to try out other departments as well.

Got through five rounds of reviews and now I think I’m being ghosted? It’s been over 2 weeks since the final talks and I’ve followed up with HR a few times only to not get a response. Is this normal? I’ve been in my current position for a long time so I feel like I’m out of the loop in terms of what a normal timeline in the current job market is. Should I give up on the position entirely and move on? Was hoping for a definitive answer before doing so (may be wishful thinking at this point)

What’s the threshold of overkill for the number of people you think a candidate should meet with? Over 2.5 mos, I’ve met with 8 people, not including 6+ calls with the SVP in prep, checking in, etc. Role hasn’t changed and I was previously at the agency for two years, so know a number of people already. The hoops are starting to turn me off on a role that would be a great career opportunity.

Been an art director for 12 months but grown in my role significantly & my boss told me my next promo was “political”. I’m managing well over 1.5M a year, 9 brands. Functioning with little to no oversight on a day-to-day basis, w/ only strategy checkins with my CD. 100% client facing. I’m managing 1 direct report and from 2-8 copy and art freelancers at any time. I feel like all my stretch goals are ACD focused. Yet still need SAD before ACD. Does this sound like an art director? Pharma agency.

If you are working at an agency that makes you miserable, is toxic, no pay growth in two years... would you jump ship to an agency you’re not excited about that offers way better pay? This is my sitch and this new role is a senior role (huge chance for growth) but I’m SO tired of agency life, the overwork and trying to move in house. I’ve heard from recruiters brand jobs are pretty quiet right now. Should I accept this offer?

I make $60K, oversee design for a handful of global brands at a large Chicago agency, have 12 years of experience (5 in this position), and have 4-5 direct reports. I suspect I have the lowest salary for this level at my agency.

I know negotiating advancement is about what I bring and not based on comparisons. I am just curious what other design directors in similar positions make. Spill it.

So I think we can all agree that agency work is soul crushing right now. Endless zooms, pitches going nonstop, lack of connections. Question... is an in-house role any better right now? Would my life be... more manageable?

I’m Sr level film/tv/OLV, your recruiters want 5 years Biz Affairs experience for a Jr role?! You can pay me less just get me out of client facing dramas, I can’t solve everything with $27 budgets.
