Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance
We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
Can anyone recommend a certificate or course that is actually useful for developing professionals and/or reviewing performance? I don’t want/need something that is just a credential, I’m actually looking to get some formal grounding in these two topics so I can overhaul processes at my consulting firm. Thanks for your advice!!!
Any female MM/ENT AEs with SaaS or Fintech experience looking to make a move? Series D company positioned to IPO in 2 years. Would be wild if this works lol
Now that networking events are virtual and limited opportunity for face to face meetings - how are new leads being generated besides website traffic. How do you "network" at virtual meetings and presentations?
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
Ladies & Gentlemen, with one month left in Q2, some will fall short of our numbers. Others will hit them. I can’t speak for all of us here, however, I can speak for myself. That being said, I will NOT be one that comes up short of my number. Now, this leads me to you all, to present a question. If you have to prospect, if you’re looking for new business, is it worth $1500 to put 95% of your prospecting process on autopilot? If so, let’s chat.
Would you ask for a higher pay at a startup, due to the company not having a pension scheme for its employees?
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
PHR or SHRM? I am looking to get more certifications related to HR vs recruiting, but I am unsure on which one is "better" or will help me grow into more of a strategic HR role. Help!!!
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
If I have 30 days of PTO accrued, when I leave will I get 4 or 6 weeks paid out? I don’t do math outside of work.
Hello guys, please help my friends and I to raise money for a COVID-19 response in Ghana. You can donate via venmo @forChangeFoundation or via GofundMe https://bit.ly/2Jl7nz1 Anything will be greatly appreciated.
Do you take all your pto? I feel like I’m the only one who is taking full weeks offs in between deadlines. It seems everyone else only takes a day or two?
Have any home owners have done a remodel? I’m on a local project for once in 7 years and would love to get some projects done around the house.
How many days off (excluding PTO) do consultants usually get during the holiday season? Started consulting this year and trying to see if should be optimistic about a vacation around Christmas time 😂
When can I start taking LOA? I have only been here for 2 months. Family health issues... I want to take a few weeks off 😞 EY KPMG PwC Deloitte

I have a final round interview at ClearView this week. I am very scared by the terrible Glassdoor reviews and the comments on this bowl.... Current/former CV consultants, is it as bad as it seems?
What is the AFS interviewing process like?
Anyone gotten out of tax into a finance role? I have a finance degree and I specialize in RE and want to get into something more transactional.
Thinking about taking a sick day and just sight seeing around my city. Has anyone ever done this?
I’m really excited finding out that Juneteenth became a federal holiday today. Most of my past jobs I didn’t get all the 10 holidays (usually just between 6-8) but knowing the significance and history of Juneteenth, this is step in right direction.
I work in m&a mostly doing PMI, divestiture work, and ODD. Any type of role I could move into FAANG at? Know Corp dev is usually for bankers or MBB folks
