Has anyone here been fired from (or counseled out of) a consulting role? Do you feel that it was justified? What did you do to bounce back?

I’m staying with my dad right now and am going through a funk at work. I just really hate work right now and am actively looking to get out. But then he says, I have a bad vibe about me at the end of the workday. Like, I KNOW!!! Anyone going through something similar? I know better than anyone and that’s why I’m trying to get out. What’s the best meal a vendor can bring in for a L&L?

Has anyone ever worked at an agency in which the project management department was properly utilized? I traditionally was brought up in my career where PM type tasks were handled by lower level AMs. I have observed separating AM and PM tasks into two separate departments just causes communication issues and lazy account people. Account people should have a good understanding of how much effort and time goes into a project. Project Managers are missing a lot of context so blind leading blind.

What are your thoughts on multilingual copywriters?

I live in a multilingual country and agencies and clients are always asking for people who speak 4 or more languages. Cool cool. But does this not possibly mean they're average writers in 4 languages than great writers in one or two?

Going away this weekend. Didn’t tell my boss until they emailed us expecting weekend work. I told them that I can try to work when I can and not sure how bad the WiFi is gonna be. Going to be honest. I’m 2nd year SC making 86k base as I came from Federal but just moved to commercial NYC. Started from undergrad. What should I do to equalize? My counselor is PPD, should i ask?

Had my annual review Friday (first year with the company). Boss awarded a 3% raise though she said my review was “90% positive.” Worth adding I got a 3% sign on bonus last year, so I’m basically at 0% raise. Nobody under me has gotten less than a 7% raise in the past year. Considering promotions + counter offers as well, it goes as high as 25%. I don’t feel a 3% raise matches a “90% positive” review and plan to bring up the cognitive dissonance I’m feeling. Any other tips or advice to add?
