HR/human capital/PAS consultant 🐠: If I have a Masters degree in HR and 2 years experience, is it worth it to get the aPHR or SHRM-CP? Or is the Masters degree enough? Should I wait for SPHR/SHRM-SCP

Sorry if this is a silly question. I am a 2nd year consultant looking to make a move. Recruiters have been asking me for my desired salary. I know some people use Glassdoor for specific company salary ranges but how do people determine what their market salary range is?

I realized a slow pace at work is really bad for me. A couple years ago I was experiencing burn out from my fast paced job supporting transactions, and believed by moving to a slower job in a lower cost area, I would be sailing off to the sunset. Wrong, I spend weeks following up with other teams, often times they forgot what we discussed, so I spent 50% if the time reminding them of the topics and next steps. I spend most of my time writing memos no one will read.

Beside toastmasters, what are other ways to improve communication and public speaking skills? Books, podcasts...?

As a 1 person HR show, what would your first hire be?

Interviewing at Microsoft and they are doing a centralized interview in 1 day. Essentially I will have 4 straight hours of interview with a 15 minute presentation. Does this sound normal for Microsoft? Any suggestions for interviewing there?

I'm at an early stage tech start up and gaining experience in an industry that I like. However, I am getting no formal training or sales coaching. Everything I've done so far (Inc. Targeted marketing and prospecting) has been self taught and I feel like I am lacking professional knowledge if I was to move onto a different company, especially considering that I am not involved in the full sales cycle.

Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

Making $97k this year and not sure where it all went. I feel I should have more saved. Rent is $2,300 and my pet is about $200 a month (food,insurance)

Past jobs were casual dress and I have been working remotely for the past years. Starting a new job that’s hybrid for a bank and their attire is business casual. It’s starting to get too cold for flats. Are booties/ankle boots appropriate?

I wanted to know how long does Course5i take to release an offer, I cleared all rounds last friday and was going to get an offer from HR early this week (by Monday evening or Tuesday) but didn’t get any offer till now.

I loved the role and I am still excited to join the organisation so mailed a follow up to the HR yesterday but did not get any response till now. I do not want to follow up for the next 1-2 days since I feel it would be too pushy from my end.

Coming from ACN, senior analyst, 3yrs total experience so far & wanting to get into the data analytics/BI work. Currently have had experience working with SQL developer, OBIEE/OBIA, Teradata in ERP and Healthcare projects. I also have my AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert, hoping to eventually get the Data Analytics Cert later. How far do you require depts be with negotiating commercial contract terms before your legal review? I’m talking routine low value and risk contracts (e.g., vendor services), where Legal terms won’t kill the deal. My clients blindly forward contracts. I say “are you sure this term is ok?” And often get “no.” They’re surprised because they never read them. Checking the temp to see what others experience, what might be normal.
