Bankers who stayed past associate level, why?

Thoughts on Wealth Management as an industry? Offered a role to work under a senior FA and eventually take over the book (~$800M AUM and growing). It sounds great, but I am worried about the disruption this industry is facing with Robo advisors and other low cost, DIY options. I’d want to make sure the clients stay through the transition, and I don’t want to join a dying industry. Thoughts and advice?

How do you handle a subordinate that goes around your decision making and goes higher up in the food chain? My boss (and their boss) made it clear I’m supposed to review and provide feedback and yet now they are fully saying no and going around me. I tried talking to them and it didn’t go well and they raised their voice and got rude with me when I was only inquiring. it’s at the point where I need To have a convo with my boss and I feel like the boss needs to set the precedent here

I have family members who are inside claims reps for a large company. The company sends out emails 4 times/day showing who is currently not available for calls. To everyone working in claims in the entire country! It’s been a minute since I worked in claims. And never for this particular company. But is this shaming the new way to manage WFH.? Have you ever taken a job you know you will hate because you needed the money right away? I have a family to take care of. I don't want to be plowing through our savings for selfish reasons like my mindframe at work, but I don't want to make our lives worse by being miserable.
