Ok, hear me out - I get that people love to moan when platforms do this, or we all roll our eyes when they play copycat with features and updates.

BUT....stories are an amazing engagement tactic on IG to keep people engaged longer and coming back to the platform more often. So why shouldn’t LinkedIn try it and see if it sticks there or grows into something? I see why LinkedIn would make that call.

Now, whether or not people use / embrace stories in the LinkedIn community, which has very different content expectations, remains to be seen. I’m skeptical, but who knows.

TLDR, I get why they’re trying it, even if it doesn’t work that great or turns into something very different. No one needs more Gary Vee.

ConDir1 - i’m with you. they’re all just becoming the same. linkedin has a unique audience, and can develop its own voice and formats, but they’re just copying now, like FB did.

i agree with using Medium as an example. might even be a version of “stories” that focuses on the written word. Medium started something with their collections, that could translate.

either way, i’m digging what you’re saying.
