New fish looking for career guidance.

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

Has anyone gone thru a vendor onboarding with InterPublic group (IPG)? Who can tell me what it’s like / what’s involved? I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?

Hi guys, I have a table with customer information. Some entries are invalid. Way to find them out is by invalid customer name like ‘dguychjki’.. no definite rule. More so like you get to know that it does seem right. How best to extract such entries for further review? What condition do I put in where clause of sql?

Currently in a satellite office but work mainly with partners in another, main office in another state (my office has no one that does what I do), and feel like I miss out on a lot of training, networking, etc. I like the firm so don’t want to lateral, and wouldn’t move to the main office, but am thinking of working out of the main office like one week every other month or something. Has anyone heard of an arrangement like this, or have any other suggestions?

Just lateraled to another big law firm, starting in a couple of weeks. Firm extended WFH until at least Oct. Any tips for starting new job remotely/connecting with people? Should I still ask to go to the office just to see what it looks like...?

Curious - would you consider a lateral move to a lower ranked firm if the practice group is higher ranked than at your current firm? In other words what’s more important - firm or practice group ranking?
