I am close to receiving an offer from AWS to join their recruitment sourcing teams, however upon further research it seems they have quite a poor name in the market. Firstly, has anyone worked their in this team before?
Secondly, what is the culture/work life balance like?

Are marketing agencies really required to have their employees come into the office? We all work using computers and sharing our files in the cloud, the only time we see each other is for meetings, which can absolutely be done through Zoom. How is your job handling this atm?

What would you do?
My company contracts a web developer, we have a set amount of hours for the quarter and pay over if more work is needed.
He never gets anything done. Doesn’t answer emails half the time. The one thing he’s done was take out a blurb that threatened our eligibility for patent renewal.
We have another company taking over in January, but I still have some pretty important dev needs until then and I can’t get him to do a thing. I truly try to give him all he needs.

What activities do yall use to build rapport with your customer base? As an example, the old troed and true method of inviting a cuatomer to a round of golf.

Currently, I am trying to see if my base is into mountain biking.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Have been at Accenture for almost 3 years making a ridiculous amount below average for my role. Got a new role thinking it will increase my pay but nothing changed. How do I go about asking HR for more or should I just look at other companies?

FL peoples: I signed a lease for a new place to start May 1 as my current landlord sold the unit I'm in. Turns out, the buyer wants to keep renting the unit and asked if I want to stay. Of course I want to stay. My new lease hasn't started so I'm pretty sure I can easily back out. For the new lease, I'm still pending full approval from a condo association as I have to do an in person interview. I have paid first months rent in advance. Is there anyway to get that money back?

Most HRs these days ask for previous salary slips/ bonus/hike letters without even quoting their offer. Should we proceed with what they want? Is it ethical? Any pros/cons
Any views?
I am thinking beyond just verifying if the candidate is not lying on the current salary but what if they don't even have the budget to what the candidate has asked as expectation.

What do you think are the chances this thing actually goes through? As of today they're still blocking it. It's paused which is fine, but if they don't actually forgive them after February I'll be pissed.
