Would you say moving from Citi to Morgan Stanley a good move?

I feel under qualified at work but I also don’t know how much of it is in my head or in reality. I head a team and they seem to be happy… but I’m also personally not satisfied what we’re delivering is enough… so I have this weird mixed feeling of the stuff we’re doing not really being that stretching, but at the same time I feel out of my depth. I really don’t know what to do and whether to hold on in the hope I’ll learn something or go back to a lower grade and a more comfortable life.

Pretty sure the saga of the slave driven company has come to an end I’m the only HR person at this company. Friday I had full admin rights, and went to check email Saturday; account locked. Payroll/HRIS locked out. PEO service says no pending termination is on my file. Went to the office today to get my things just in case. Located in CA. Was about to report numerous violations too. All because I couldn’t solve 8 months of payroll issues in a day. 🫠 Good riddance, I’m getting a lawyer.

Have you ever stopped pursuing a job at a company because of your experience with the recruiter? My friend recently met with a recruiter who tried to convince her to apply for a Manager position instead of a Sr. Manager position and “get promoted into the Sr. Manager position in one year”. It takes at least a year and a half to get promoted, the recruiter lied to her! This is a red flag to me and I am thinking of advising my friend to go after the role at a different company.

If 80-90 % of snapshots are very much leaning towards at next level, the rest is partially at next level, how likely will you get promoted to senior this cycle? (With one and a half year experience)

My utilization was104% and I am getting a 3. So much to say, but you can imagine my frustration, especially since neither manager gave me negative feedback to my face for an entire year.

I am currently working at Infosys with 3 years of experience in Java. I got am offer from ibsSoftware for 14 LPA (13.3 fix).
Yesterday, I also got an offer from Oracle but they didn't gave me my expected salary (I asked for 15 lpa). Oracle gave me 11 fix + 1 variable + 1 joining bonus. Which one should I join considering oracle is a big brand name.

Has anyone done earthquake retrofitting for a house NEWER than 1980? I know it’s a must-do for houses OLDER than 1980. But my house was built in 1988, so it’s not required.

Several contractors provided estimates, in the $40k-$50k range, which seems like a lot of $$$.

Apparently our house has bolts but not enough and not the right kind, plus it needs joist blocking and shear paneling. All to meet codes put in place after our house was built.

Just curious if others have done this.
