I’m being offered a VP level CoS role at Morgan Stanley Tech side. I have 7 YoE. Is $150k-$160k good for this position in NYC or should I ask for more?

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. Joining a big(ish)law litigation/investigations practice group in a few weeks. Only biglaw friends I have do transactional so I see what their schedules are like but not sure how lit compares.

Anybody have any insight into how lit is different? Is it more predictable/regular? Less? What do you think the major differences (beyond substance obviously) are between the two?

Anyone got a six figure base as an AE? Hunting around for companies with 6-fig base and similar commission. Seems to be mostly field / enterprise pay.

I recently started at HubSpot as an account executive covering SMB. I’m finishing up training and a Salesforce recruiter reached about a job opening doing pretty much the same thing. Salesforce was near the top of my list of prospective companies. Curious if anyone has experience working there and would recommend it over HubSpot?

My bank makes you fill out a form if you want to work in the office for each individual day. It’s largely empty from what I hear. What are the risks if I were to go in and “borrow” an office chair for my new apt? How about a monitor?

I strongly believe new hire onboarding should not sit in the HR/People Operations space but should sit in the HR Coordinator/HR Generalist space. As a new hire, they should be able to have a confirmed point of contact especially during their first 90 days and People Ops should not be that point of contact unless there’s system or access issues.

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

I've been working at this company for about 3.5 weeks now. Its been great so far.

We have an org chart in our dashboard ATS/HRIS and so I clicked on my first day buddies name just for fun.

I was able to see her entire employee file..even her address. I was really freaked out and I went to another profile and the same thing happened, I was able to see this person's emergency contact. Is this fucking normal? Should I say something and will I get in trouble for looking at a colleagues file?

What is the impact on rating and overall, if I have got all snapshots good but for one snapshot its like at level for 4 parameters and 1 parameter partially demonstrated at level and have got a development action on that. Can you please advise on what will be the repurcussions and how to deal with this situation as the CRT are round the corners. Thanks in advance!PwC
