How do some agencies take all the awards yearly while others get severely shafted?

Has anyone successfully made the career move from an HR specialization to an HRBP role? If so, how? I have been working for 7 years in a very niche HR specialization and while I wear many hats on the HR team, I feel like this is hard to express to recruiters or even get an interview for an HRBP role. My niche area has really burnt me out, as it’s very political and I want to expand my horizons. I am already working on completing my GPHR certification. Any other tips?

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. I was given an additional title and more responsibilities last year as well but only a 3% raise for it.

Just received 2 offers that I’m weighing, both in Advertising tech:
1. Smaller firm about to be acquired by a larger one, Product Marketing role (title would be Sr. PMM)
2. FAANG, Sales Account Manager role (similar to my current role)
I have 5-6 YOE and have been in an Account Management role for most of my career - is it worth making the switch to PMM at a smaller firm or sticking with what I know at a FAANG? Both would have relatively similar comp. Thanks in advance for your input!

Hi 👋🏻 Would love some support here - looking to build out a bonus structure for a Sales Engagement Mgr role - it isn't a typical sales role - this person will be closing deals but not necessarily securing leads. If they will be scoring leads, it will be organic via conferences, partnerships. Of course, we want to encourage and incentivize this person. Potentially giving then an extra 20-50k bonus potential. Freelancers, do you actually benefit from having an S Corp? Assume someone is earning about $100k in 1099s and $150k in W9s. Everyone says “oh get an s corp for taxes” but does it ACTUALLY help lower your taxes? (Also, can you get ALL 1099s if you bill through your s corp and does THAT help?) Everyone who insists on it says things like “yeah I’m not sure how, but it helps” or “this is my first year doing it.”

Question for those in "tech" cities. I am in Northern VA and view this area as a potential tech destination of the future as FAANG moves towards servicing the federal govt (see HQ2). Is there much of a premium in terms of pay for the accountants in the current tech cities? Is a career in FAANG as an accountant better than public accounting if you never expect to make partner? There already seems to be a severe shortage of talent here in NoVa so I'm wondering what to expect 3-5 years out.

I know this is going to differ greatly but wanted to get an informal survey here of what the hours are like in product management. If you are a PM, can you state your level (early, mid, late in career) and average hours per week worked?

Round or exact numbers on banners/LPs? I was curious about this since in negotiations for example or pricing it's better to have the exact number. But if you have a case study, for example, is it better to say "Client X increased their revenue to 1,000,000 ARR" instead of "Client X increased their revenue to 987,500 ARR" ? Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.

PDM at Deloitte and recently told my current PM that I receive an offer to be on a different project and would like to rolloff my current project. They told me they have to check their WOA before they can confirm my last date. Is this a legit reason or something they made up just so I can’t leave?

What are other ways to get out of law aside from legal recruiting? I have insurance defense (MVA and first party property) and labor and employment law experience. Do not want to work for an insurance company. Not sure what my other options would be.
