Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!

Last year was a tough year for my boss so I stepped in to lead our team. We received an award for navigating through crisis and really were able to impact careers in a positive was from our work. I'm a little bit under two years in my HR career. I was hired on full time has an HR Generalist and I want to start studying for my SHRM-CP, but I'm a little bit intimidated on how to start. Just got an offer at ACN as a Strategy Manager and HR made it clear that parental leave was 2 weeks fully paid for men. Theoretically up until 12 weeks is covered by NY State ($900 weekly). What would you do? Have you seen men take a few months off for parental leave in consulting even if unpaid?
Tips on how to let a law firm know you have another offer? I have the final interview tomorrow at the firm and a partner indicated I’d get an offer but I just received another offer from a different company. I want to let this firm know I have an offer but that they remain my first choice…aka speed up the process so I can let the other company know!

Deloitte tax projecting double digit (percentage) decrease to top and bottom line for FY21 - at least our office / region. Based on that, layoffs seem necessary. Fortunate that the folks laid off hit the market first; if the revenue decrease is truly that significant, have to imagine all other firms will be making the same difficult decisions.
