“2-car garages” these days cannot fit two cars. Are they like airline seats- always shrinking? Shixxy developers.

Wait till you see standard 3 car garages ...third stall is for the lawn mower ..

Depends on the builder but overall probably yes.

I had a Lennar home in 2019 with a three-car garage and was able to fit all three cars with no issue (2015 Hyundai Sonata, 2015 GLK350, 2014 Cadillac SRX).

Not saying the builders aren’t doing the bare minimum, but I do see A LOT of people with very messy garages because they don’t know how to organize their stuff, they’re hoarding, or both. That definitely contributes to not being able to fit the number of cars the garage can hold.

Cars getting bigger, garages getting smaller.

2019 build is not the same as today. Today there is tops 1-1.5 feet on either side of the two car garage door. I have a 2022 new build with a 3 car tandem empty garage, I have to park the Tesla further up to open the door more freely without hitting my Honda accord or vice versa

Builders doing the bare minimum. Hopefully they’ll come around during the Recession Q3-4

Under contract to buy my first home - house hacking a triplex. Property has been leased by the same three tenants for the last 5+ yrs, rents haven’t been raised since they moved in. Market rents have risen 70-100% in the same timeframe. All seem like ideal tenants (retired and take great care of the units) but I’d like advice on how to approach the rent increase conversation. Rents don’t make/break my mortgage payment but I’m leaving a lot on the table if I don’t increase significantly.

Feedback needed. Given the current influx of interest rates and looming economic decline. Both prop may have tenants that have had rental payments delinquencies in the past…. Part of the agreement is to remove all tenants.

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? We are moving from Vegas to Sacramento and we are not sure how long we would stay in the new area. Thoughts?

How much should I invest in buying a HOME as my primary residence.

Current TC: 200k
Net worth: 300k, readily available 170k in stocks, hysa and cash
Current rent: 2000 per month
Age: 30

Wonder if anyone has any excel model or a rule to determine how much I can afford or should go for?

In process of buying a house, both my surveyor and specialist damp contractor found damp under kitchen tiles (In the grout) & in skirting boards and up one wall. Sellers had work done initially in 2014 on the wall only(with garuntee) & their company has visited and assured there is no damp… what is next best course of action, get another damp specialist to examine independently of other reports? I don’t trust them….. (U.K. Victorian terrace, damp is in the kitchen extension built circa. 15 y/o)

I have a rental property and my tenant is asking me to change the fridge light burb. I live out of state and don’t have property manager locally. Is it bad if I ask them to change the fridge light burb themselves?

I’m pretty responsive for things they need help with like laundry machine got broken or pantry doors fell off. So I had sent people to fix those maintenance and repair issues.

But light burbs? Srlsy? They are grown up people (fresh out of college girls)
